Ōnuku Mahinga Kai Series - Pere Tainui is a kaumatua (tribal elder) of Ōnuku Marae which is located on the shores of the Akaroa Harbour on the Horomaka, Banks Peninsular, NZ. Pere and his whānau are passionate about retaining and revitilising the knowledge and practices of mahinga kai (traditional food gathering) among the rangatahi (younger generation) of his hapū tribal community.
